“Working together, growing together for all to Flourish.”
“It’s really about Love!”
Welcome to Marldon Primary School.
We are a church of England school – we promote friendship, perseverance, justice, compassion and courage as a common set of Christian Values.
We are a Silver Rights Respecting school who put children at the heart of all we do and build positive relationships based on care, mutual trust and respect.
“We love because He first loved us.”- 1 John 4:19
We believe that our school should be a fun and exciting place to learn. Marldon promotes a communication friendly environment where children are given opportunities to talk and listen, through small group or paired play. With this, we believe the children will excel in their development, ensuring they are well prepared for their future. Expanding children’s vocabulary is something we do every day through direct teaching, based on key texts and through creating a language rich culture.
We are a Rights Respecting School; this means our children understand that they have rights under the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child. Learning about our rights is part of our daily routine and activities. Our rights respecting ambassadors provide a voice for the pupils and help to shape the decisions that we make as a school.
Being physically and mentally healthy is part of our school ethos. We encourage children to live an active life, connect, learn and create, take notice and give to others, promoting the love of each other, life and God.
Our school follows the “Mind Up” approach, a curriculum based on emotional awareness that promotes resilience, mindfulness, optimism and gratitude.
Children are encouraged to eat a healthy balanced diet, with a great menu cooked on site at our school. We provide an ‘Early Birds’ morning club, which helps parents to fit their working day around their children’s education.
All the children have access to chrome books and ipads. We provide enriching educational experiences that go beyond the classroom, to inspire and motivate children in all aspects of their life. Children have the opportunity to go caving, climbing and scuba diving and we offer residential visits for children in Years 2 and 6.
Marldon is a part of The United Schools Federation, the USF. This is a partnership of schools that share resources, expertise and experiences and good practice, for the benefit of all our children.
We are a small school with a family feel and I hope to welcome you and your child here; we know they will have a fun and fulfilling time with us!
